Artwork from the “Golden fake” series, which explores the tension between appearance and truth - between what seems like value or success and what is in fact only their imitation.
“Warrior” is a portrait of a woman functioning in a world of overstimulation, constant choices, and “golden opportunities” that promise immediate gratification.
From the left, small gold and purple piranhas surge forward - symbols of impulses, comments, judgments, and temptations demanding attention. The mechanism here is not based on a single strike, but on a multitude of small stimuli: scrolling, comparing, and constant reacting.
At the center, a golden fish appears on a plate - the trophy of the hunt. It glimmers like a reward, like proof of success, ready to be shown to others. Yet the warrior’s posture remains steady. It is an image of control, conscious choice, and the ability to pause when the pursuit no longer makes sense. In darkness, the work reveals its second aspect - the contours begin to glow with their own light, emphasizing the dynamics and strength of the movement. “Warrior” tells a story of strength that does not lie in gaining more and more, but in letting go of what holds no real value.
