“Baroque mirror” draws attention through the richness of its form - gold, ornament, symmetry. It is striking, almost ceremonial. Yet this is only the surface. The mirror does not offer a direct reflection. It leaves a space in which what we see begins to depend on how we look. In darkness, the work quiets down. The fluorescent surface begins to glow with its own light, and the whole composition becomes simpler and more transparent. What once attracted attention no longer dominates. It is an image about what appears to be value. And about what remains when the shine fades.
